Ruff Beginnings is a non profit, no-kill animal rescue
located in Boca Raton, FL as well as Mooresville, NC. We are dedicated to saving
the lives of innocent dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.
Thousands of pets are euthanized every year simply
because there are not enough loving homes for all of
them. Ruff Beginnings does all it can to provide
Happy Endings to as many animals as possible. We
strive to educate the community about the importance
of spaying and neutering their pets. By reducing
the amount of litters being born each year, we are
also reducing the amount of euthanasia’s each year.
We also believe that by educating adults and children
about proper care and respect for animals, we will
eliminate some of the unnecessary acts of cruelties
against pets in the United States. Once an animal is
rescued by Ruff Beginnings it is guaranteed a home for
life. Our goal is to be able to close our doors for
good one day, because that will mean there are no more
unwanted pets in the world. |

Ruff Beginnings was founded in 2006. We were
incorporated in 2007, and we are in the process of getting
our 501(c)(3) Not-Profit Organization status. The need for
more safe places for unwanted, abused and orphaned pets
had become so enormous, we decided that we needed to do
something to help as many of these animals as possible. We
knew that even though it was going to be a lot of work, if
we could save even one life it would all be worth it. We
depend solely on private donations and fundraising events.
Our services include rescuing
animals from euthanasia at local animal care and control,
abused, neglected, and orphaned animals within our
community as well as the surrounding areas. Then we find each of them new, loving forever homes.
We also run programs to educate people on the importance
of spaying and neutering, as well as to help people
understand that when you adopt a pet, your are making a
lifelong commitment. Pets are not a disposable toy, that
you can just get rid of because you are moving or don't
have time for them anymore, or they are no longer the tiny
puppy you fell in love with. Ruff Beginnings also shines
light on some of the horrific situations that pets face
when dumped at a shelter. We believe that through proper
education adults and children can learn to respect and
properly care for all animals.

Back and Better than ever
Due to the ruff economic times
we have all faced, we had been forced to slow rescue this past year. We are
pleased to announce that we are in the process of expanding our rescue efforts
